The Role of Independence in Our Lives

The week of Independence Day is a good time to think about the role of independence in our lives as men. We treasure this trait and resist any attempts to take it away from us.

However, in intimate relationships, independence can become a problem. Our tough guy approach and our insistence on going our own way can make us appear impenetrable and unmovable. While we may not be wishing to project that image, that may be how we come across to our partners.

It's a good time to think about how independent we really need to be and how we can allow others into our lives more generously.
