How to Prioritize Supportive & Healthy Friendships

It can be difficult to form meaningful relationships. But it's important to make sure we prioritize supportive, healthy friendships. Having good friends in our lives can help us cope with life’s challenges, provide emotional support, and remind us of the good things that life has to offer. Here are a few tips for finding and maintaining supportive friendships.

Practice Vulnerability
Vulnerability can be difficult but it is essential for forming meaningful relationships. Practicing vulnerability means being able to share your true feelings and experiences with someone else without feeling judged or ashamed. This can feel uncomfortable at first, but it helps create an environment where you can genuinely connect with someone else on a deeper level.

Don’t Assume Friendship Happens without Effort
Friendships take effort, and sometimes it doesn't happen naturally. If you're looking to build supportive friendships in your life, try reaching out to people you think could be a good fit. Invite them out to coffee or join them for a walk around the block—a little bit of effort can go a long way!

Do Things Together
One of the best ways to strengthen any friendship is by doing things together—anything from going for a hike or seeing a movie, to playing board games or simply having dinner together once in awhile. Doing activities with friends gives you an opportunity to bond over shared experiences and also provides an excuse to stay connected on days when you don’t have much else going on.

Harness the Power of Casual Check-Ins
It's important not to let weeks (or months!) pass between conversations with your friends. Try setting up regular check-ins via text message or video call so that you can stay connected even when your schedules don't allow for face-to-face time together. These brief conversations are also great opportunities for catching up on small talk and keeping each other informed about what’s happening in your lives as well as your respective social circles!

Building strong connections with others takes time and effort, but it's worth it! Making an effort to prioritize supportive friendships will help bring greater meaning into our lives and give us something positive that we look forward too every day! We hope these tips help you find meaningful connections that last a lifetime!
