Have a strong moral compass
Every day we are called on to make decisions, large and small, which can benefit us and/or hurt others. Those decisions might range from an executive order to change the parking arrangements in a way that favors executives, to helping someone asking for money on a street corner. Life tends to harden us into thinking that people should be able to take care of themselves, but it is worth noting that throughout history, caring for others, especially the poor, has been a major tenet of most successful civilizations and is a central tenet of Jesus's teaching. If you are not involved in a charitable cause, if you are not donating regularly to organizations committed to helping others, if you are not speaking up against legislation that disadvantages those who have no voice, decide to do something about that. This is not just a manly thing to do, it is the right thing to do.
